Paula-von-Mirtow-Park: The residents' top wishes are realized!
The changes in Paula von Mirtow Park in the 12th district cannot be overlooked! Since summer 2023, the park has been shining in new splendor and offers almost double the space for relaxation and activities. In autumn 2023, Grätzl residents were then able to have a say in the specific design. Almost 400 people took part in the participation process. The result was close.
More space, more fun - These were the residents' wishes: 1. Table tennis table:
For all sports enthusiasts, there will be the opportunity to let off steam outdoors and play a round of table tennis together
.2. Water feature: Stream: A refreshing addition for young and old! The new stream in the park will provide additional variety and invite you to relax
.3. Office in the park: Tables with charging facilities: Work or simply enjoy nature? With the new tables and charging stations, both will be possible in Paula-von-Mirtow
Park.4. Blooming and sweet bushes: The variety of flowering and edible plants not only enhances the look, but also the enjoyment in the park. That's why we can look forward to spring - snacking allowed!
District President Wilfried Zankl says: “Since places 3 and 4 are separated by just one vote, I would like to fulfill all 4 wishes. In any case, this still needs to be coordinated in the detailed planning.”
Green thumbs up: Support from “Liveable Climate Model City”
Financial support for this project comes from the “Liveable Climate Model City” program. Until 2025, the City of Vienna is investing 20 million euros annually in projects that improve the quality of life. This includes the expansion of green space, innovative cooling measures and the unsealing of concrete and asphalt surfaces. The Paula von Mirtow Park is thus not only a place of relaxation, but also a sustainable and climate-friendly meeting place for the
entire community. We are delighted that your wishes have been heard and invite you to explore and enjoy the new park!
With green regards, The DigiGrätzl
